May 19th May 2022 Kilimanjaro Trek for Pencils of Promise
This year, me and a team of 14 students from the University of Pittsburgh are undertaking on an adventurous journey to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, while fundraising for Pencils of Promise. Every donation we receive is split 50/50 between Pencils of Promise and Choose A Challenge USA. The PoP donations goes towards construction of schools in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Ghana or Laos , development of teacher training programs and teacher support within PoP schools, and creation of WASH Program which teaches kids about potable water, sanitation and hygiene to keep them healthy, happy and ready to learn. As a Campus Leader for Pitt Choose A Challenge, I am learning more about how to be an effective leader everyday. To create a foundation for an organization that provides my team members, and this University, with all the tools needed to succeed is my ultimate goal.
